Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Trip details: destinations, travel dates, country (and US state) of residence, where you are now, trip cost and booking date.
• Traveler details needed for a quote: dates of birth or ages, and answers to eligibility questions such as pregnancy or pre-existing medical conditions. We ask these only because insurers' eligibility and prices depend on them.
• Purchase details, if you continue to buy: names as written in the passport, passport number and expiry, nationality, sex, residential and billing address, email and phone.
• Documents you choose to upload, such as a trip itinerary.
• Technical information that our hosting providers record automatically, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

Passport scanning

If you scan your passport, the photo is read on your own device to extract the machine-readable lines. The photo is not uploaded to us. You can always type the details instead.

How we use your information

• To show you the plans you are eligible for and their prices.
• To pass your details to the insurer you choose, so that it can quote, issue and service your policy.
• To check that your address and postal code are valid (see "Service providers").
• To answer your questions and give you service.
• To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal and regulatory obligations as an insurance agency.
• To improve the site, using information that does not identify you.

Who we share it with

• The insurer you choose: when you click "Buy", you continue on the insurer's own website (or we send your details to it) and the insurer's privacy policy applies to what it receives. Payments are made directly to the insurer; we never see or store your card details.
• Service providers that run the site for us: website hosting (Netlify), database hosting (Convex) and address verification (Google Maps Platform). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
• A buyer of our business, under this policy, if the business is sold or merged.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies and local storage

We store your language choice in your browser so the site opens in the same language next time. When you click to buy a plan, we record which plan and insurer were chosen, the page language and the time, without any information that identifies you, so we can match sales with insurers. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

International transfers

Our service providers and many of the insurers we work with are in the United States, and your information may be processed there. We use providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including record-keeping that insurance regulation requires, and then delete it or make it anonymous. Insurers keep the information they receive under their own policies.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit access to personal information to those who need it. No system is completely secure, so please contact us right away if you think your information has been misused.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw consent you have given. Depending on where you live (for example, under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, the EU GDPR or US state laws) you may have further rights. To make a request, write to mrlyleh@gmail.com. Children

Children may be covered as travelers, but a parent or guardian must enter their details and buy the policy. The site is not intended for use by people under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed; important changes will be highlighted on the site.
